In this month’s NSCDA Wellness Wednesday mindfulness session Angela Poundmaker-Gromova will guide participants through practices to reconnect with the heart and cultivate emotional resilience. Rooted in her Cree teachings and meditation expertise, this session focuses on nurturing self-awareness, managing emotional responses, and fostering respectful interactions with others.

Angela’s thoughtful approach invites you to explore the heart as a center of connection, compassion, and hope. Through guided breathing and reflection, you’ll discover tools to support your emotional well-being while creating space for inclusion and understanding in your professional and personal relationships. This session offers a welcoming and inclusive circle to honour diversity, embrace your light, and support your path toward greater self-awareness and harmony.

Facilitator's Bio:

Angela Poundmaker-Gromova (she/her) is a proud member of the Poundmaker Cree Nation, living and working in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. A passionate communications professional, artist, and mindfulness practitioner, Angela brings a wealth of experience in strategic communications, public speaking, special event planning, and entrepreneurship.

Through her initiative, Cultivating Safe Spaces, Angela works to restore harmony within communities and promote confidence during turbulent times. She draws on the sacred teachings of her Cree Aunties, reclaiming ancestral wisdom as a 60’s Scooper and embracing the sacred knowledge that we are all beings of light. Angela believes it is our birthright to shine, no matter the industry or stage of life, and she is dedicated to fostering inclusive, healing spaces for all.
