2020 Call for Nominations Excellence in Career Development Awards

Nominations are now open for the NSCDA's Excellence in Career Development awards.

No matter where we go and who we talk to in Canada, we hear the same thing: Nova Scotia continues to be a national leader in the field of Career Development and Career Services. We owe this tremendous reputation in no small part to the incredible effort, passion and dedication of career development professionals like you, whose pursuit of excellence in service delivery continues to stimulate growth, create opportunity and enhance the lives of working Nova Scotians.  We couldn't be prouder of the work that you do, and we think that's something worth celebrating!

We are now taking submissions from members for our new Excellence in Career Development award!  If you know an individual or an organization who demonstrates quality service, a commitment to excellence, and innovation and creativity in meeting the needs of their clients and their communities – we want to hear about it! 

All nominations will be reviewed by a NSCDA selection committee.  Winners in their respective categories will be announced at the annual NSCDA Conference.

INDIVIDUAL CAREER PRACTITIONER CATEGORY

Do you know of a practitioner who is making a difference in their community, workplace, or practice?  If so, this is your chance to elevate them and showcase their passion and drive to an audience of their peers.

The NSCDA is looking for individuals who have exhibited exemplary practice in any of the following fields:

• Going "above and beyond" for clients, coworkers or communities
• Demonstrating innovation and creativity in practice
• Overcoming barriers
• Lifelong learning
• Exemplary contributions to the field, their team or organization

Nominees must work in or with the career development sector in Nova Scotia.  Preference will be given to nominees whose contributions go above and beyond the scope of their regular job responsibilities.

ORGANIZATION CATEGORY

Is your team demonstrating excellence in your community?  We want to hear about it!

The NSCDA is collecting nominations for organizations or teams who demonstrate any of the following:

• Making a positive difference in/to the community they serve
• Demonstrating excellence in teamwork and unified vision
• Working actively to promote diversity and create more inclusive workplaces
• Building community and team synergy
• Developing and delivering unique services and programming

Nominated teams and organizations must operate in or with the career development sector in Nova Scotia.  Preference will be given to organizations who go above and beyond the scope of their mandate.

THE NOMINATION PROCESS

• Complete the following online nomination form.
• Either type out or attach a rationale outlining how the nominee demonstrates exemplary practice in career development, including any examples.

Nominations will be reviewed by a NSCDA selection committee and winners will be awarded at the annual conference.

Call for nominations deadline: OCTOBER 28, 2020.
