Course Description
In this course we will examine a branch of the field of ethics known as Professional Ethics through the lens of an important document: the Code of Ethics for Career Development Practitioners. This document is of critical importance for CDPs as it provides the framework to aid practitioners in delivering services in a way that maintains professional boundaries and client autonomy, providing the groundwork for a fruitful client-practitioner relationship.
This course offers a high-level view of the Code and its various sections and articles, as well as provides an introduction and overview of the Ethical Decision-Making Model that CDPs are expected to use to identify, investigate and address potential ethical dilemmas that might arise through their practice.
